This white beaded collar was made in Cape Town, South Africa, and the Supreme Court Justice cited it as her favorite. She wore it on happy occasions – for addresses from President Obama and Pope Francis – and for portraits, including her official court portrait, Nelson Shank’s portrait of the four women justices, and for the cover of Time Magazine in 2015. Its simple, unadorned elegance is among the most recognizable of Ginsburg’s style.
