ELINOR CARUCCI
Columbia Law School commissioned the Brooklyn lace-maker Elena Kanagy-Loux to create this Mennonite-inspired scalloped collar to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of Ginsburg’s appointment to the Supreme Court. Ginsburg was top of her class when she graduated in 1959 and became its first female tenured faculty in 1972. Columbia’s gift to the Justice celebrates her achievement in Egyptian cotton, Japanese silk, and spirals of the number “25” in the design.
