Erwin Olaf: Stages in Musée Magazine

Exhibition review
EXCERPT FROM REVIEW BY LIV MASON

"Olaf’s signature style, bold and at times controversial, cannot be summarized in a single word. His photography shines a spotlight on society’s marginalized groups, whether that be women, people of color, or the LGBTQA+ community. A gay man himself, Olaf empathized with these marginalized individuals. His work aimed to convey hard-to-name feelings — like sitting at home alone on his favorite couch and wishing, still, he was home. It is not necessarily a feeling of unhappiness or discontent, but the edging of every emotion."
